A Tavern in the Wild by LordDoomhammer A Tavern in the Wild by LordDoomhammer
I think that's my first painting using acrylics after two years+
Was asked quite often lately whether I could paint my digital stuff by hand either. The simple answer is a clear NO, as I use different styles and techniques in either of them. But I must say it felt kinda nice after such a long time and I am kinda happy with result despite its shortcomings :)
I'd love to make more, but I guess times against me. But we'll see ;)

Acrylics on Din A3 Paper without reference
based upon a story I'm writing on

You should do more things with acrylics! It turned out beautiful. Love the light and the colours.

Thank you very much! I actually just did two more small paintings for practice - still miles away from an impressive piece^^
Will upload them as soon as I can scan them however ;)

Looks very nice. Assumed digital at first till I read the description and was like, "Even better!" The texture is great and so is the atmosphere. Awesome job. ^^

Great art, man.. Thats the first non-digital drawing I see from you and wow, it's overwhelming.. I love how you drew those trees and the whole backdrop looks wonderful (:
I'm a great fan of your work and I'm glad I see you experimenting with stuff ^^
Also you did this fully without a reference? Thats amazing ^^

Wow, thank you very much! You motivate me to get back to traditional painting more often! :)
And yes, I used no reference whatsoever. Though next time I wanna add more details in my painting ;)

I'm glad I could ^^
And well.. You used no reference, surely it's hard to add more details to that
I know you're a great artist, but thats really impressive o:

It's not due to lack of reference, I simply didn't want to make something too difficult for my first time back with acrylics. I needed a triumph to start again if you know what I mean ;)
And thanks again, it means a lot to me! :)

Yeah but a reference would've made it way easier, or wouldn't it? o:
As I'm not an artist I really don't know how it actually is, but I heard it was harder to draw without a reference :/
Well I think the triumph you needed was created there ^^
Already got ideas for the next one? I'm curious ^^

That depends on what you wanna do. But in general it's easier as it takes away a lot of planning and head-work, you're right about that ;)
And it's never a matter of ideas with me, as I got plenty in my mind, but rather an issue of time of which I have too little it seems :P :D

Aw.. Sorry to hear that ^^
Well I guess university takes a lot of you.. Say what do you study again? I forgot somehow ^^;
But I'm glad you won't run out of ideas ^^

I guess that's an issue everybody has to deal with ;)
Don't worry, I'm not sure if I ever told you^^ I'm studying for an scientific degree in history as well as an educational degree for history and arts (the latter means I can become a teacher in higher classes)
With me it's more of an issue to focus for an idea long enough to get it done. At which I kinda suck lately, as I haven't spent a long time (10+ hours) on one piece for a loooooong time :D
