Sketchup obviously has a lot more to offer than I thought How'd you manage with a single texture though? If it's low poly, surely not all the bumps and panels are modelled in? The lights are done in post?
Well, a great deal comes from the external renderer called Kerkythea. But I think modeling wise (at least architecture, ships and stuff) SketchUp can offer quite a lot and especially very fast. But most bumps were achieved via bump-mapping. Was surprised how well that worked with such a quickly made texture. The model itself has barely 7,5k tris. And if you mean the flares coming from the lights: yes, they were added in Photoshop
That's badass, man! ^^ Hey, I don't suppose you'd be willing to do a picture request would you? I've got one that might be a fun challenge for you. I have a large colony ship that I'm needing a better picture of for a big personal project I'm working on. Would you be interested?
